Ash Village Hall is a Registered Charity and located in the beautiful village of Ash,

Nr Martock, Somerset. Built in 1960, it has been extensively refurbished over the last five years. Available for private hire.

What Can We Offer?

The Village Hall offers a Main Hall with sprung wooden floor, curtained stage, kitchen, toilets and storage areas for regular hirers.

Hire Charge?

The hourly hire charge of £10.00 includes full use of the Village Hall and its facilities.

It also includes use of tables, chairs, crockery, heating, lighting and hot water.

Capacity & Accessibility?

The Village Hall can accommodate up to 210 people (closely seated)

A public car park is 100 metres away (opposite the church)

The hall has good wheelchair access and disabled toilet facilities.

Whilst the adjacent Bell Inn does not offer use of its car park to village hall users, special permission for parking, for those with mobility issues can be obtained from them. Tel: 01935 822727

Our History

Built in 1960, the Village Hall was funded by Ash Village Residents and donations from surrounding towns and villages. It was erected in remembrance of those who died in the second world war 1939 - 1945

Who Currently Uses The Village Hall?

The Village Hall hosts numerous village events, clubs and groups. Several dance classes enjoy the benefit of the wooden sprung floor. The large main hall also makes it ideal for regular yoga, pilates and fitness classes.

More recently, it has also become an assett in terms of providing additional space for the village primary school.

Setting up and clearing up the Village Hall will be charge at the normal hourly rate.

All bookings are subject to our 'Conditions of Venue Hire'

A deposit of 50% will be required to secure your booking.

A refundable deposit of £50 will be required for all childrens parties.


Our Risk Assessment (compiled and based on Government Guidelines)has been based on the recommended 2 Metre Distancing.

Maximum Capacity on this basis is 18 people.

In order to reduce this distance to 1 Metre + when using the Village Hall, you will be required to complete & return your own risk assessment and include mitigation that will be taken in order to safely reduce the distance.
